Facing hardship in daily lives as the result of being war victims, most of whom are people with disabilities or having serious health issues. To support those vulnerable people, together with other donators, VAPCO attended the event organized by local authorities for the Agent Orange Victims with donations to all 21 people located in the project affected wards/communes proposed by the community.
In mid-August, VAPCO completed the handover of four firefighting systems for Hai Phong and Hai Thanh villages to enhance the community health and safety around the Project site. The equipment was installed in the four dense zones of these villages with narrow roads which the fire truck can’t access. After the handover, this equipment will be managed by local police, village head, and villagers.
As usual VAPCO in collaboration with the local Youth Union organized the 5th community clean-up event in late August in response to the community clean-up campaign in celebrating the National Day. Workers of VAPCO, EPC JV, Local EPC, and sub-contractors joined in the road clean-up along the village road of Hai Phong together with the local Youth Union. One water spraying truck was also mobilized to facilitate the clean-up more efficiently. This activity, with the participation of many Project staff, contributed to reinforcing the image of the Project as caring about environmental protection and sanitation and helped to raise awareness amongst villagers on this issue.
