PROJECT OVERVIEW
The development, financing, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation, and transfer of the Vung Ang II 2×600 MW (net) imported coal-fired thermal power plant located within the Vung Ang Economic Zone in Ha Tinh Province, Central Vietnam.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) The day-to-day
- Monitoring the Company’s environmental performance against internal and external compliance targets
- Implementing and driving environmental strategies and policies
- Communicating with key stakeholders regarding environmental performance
2) Key responsibilities
- Build awareness of environmental legislation and identify and lead to the prevention of any potential contravention of regulation and consent compliance
- Keep up-to-date with the latest environmental legislation with Vietnam and international regulation and legislation
- Promote awareness of the impact of environmental decisions across the Company
- Report the Company’s environmental performance to key stakeholders both within and outside the Company including to regulatory bodies
- Oversee the Company’s management and policy adherence in relation to pollution control, environmental health, carbon foot-printing, biodiversity, responsible procurement, waste management and recycling
- Manage service agreements and contractors working with the Company on environmental compliance projects
- Build relationships with external environmental service providers
- Represent the Company in public hearings and consultations in relation to environmental matters
- Lead on environmental investigations for significant incidents
- Prepare environmental permits, license, report and waste exemptions when necessary
- Manage the environmental management system
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum five years of experience in the same position or the related field in FDI companies. Related experiences for Construction periods of Thermal Power Plants are preferred.
- Solid understanding of, knowledge of, and hands-on experience in the environmental area.
- Able to work with and maintain good relations with local authorities.
- Available to work overtime and weekends if necessary or in an emergency.
- Good command of English (written and verbal), and computer literacy.
