CSR: Awarding 90 scholarships and 180 Tet gifts to students and people in needs.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022, Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited – VAPCO organized to give 90 scholarships and 180 Tet gifts to disadvantaged households in Ky Loi commune, Ky Trinh, Ky Long wards (Ky Anh town – Ha Tinh).

Awarding 90 scholarships to students in difficulties, VAPCO hopes to partly help those students continue their schooling and achieve their dreams. Although the value of the scholarships is not great, it is hoped that it can encourage and create motivation for all students, helping them to have passion, spirit and determination to overcome difficulties, so that they can achieve higher learning results.

On the morning of January 13, 2022 at the People’s Committee of Ky Long ward, Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited gave gifts to 46 households with poor conditions.

In the afternoon of the same day, at the People’s Committee of Ky Loi commune, Gift Tet of the 2022 Lunar New Year continued to be hand-delivered to 134 poor households in Ky Loi and Ky Trinh. VAPCO hopes that this Tet gift can encourage and help households to have a warm Tet together with their families.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Project Director Jeaha Kim shared: “VAPCO always thanks Ky Anh Commune People’s Committee, along with local agencies at all levels, as well as all local people who has always cooperated and supported our Project in good will. In particular, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the Ky Anh Association of Promoting Education for your co-organization and partnership. Through this event, we want to send Tet gifts to poor households, hoping that they would be encouraged and helped to have a warm Tet with their families.”

Vice Chairman of Ky Anh Town People’s Committee – Nguyen Van Chung said: “I am very happy to see that the gifts have reached the hands of the people, the scholarships have come to the children on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022. Those gifts are filled with affection, sharing and understanding with the disadvantaged households from the Company. In particular, I would like to express gratitude to VAPCO for caring and accompanying the poor people in the area.”

Each gift set includes daily commodity and cash to help the poor having a fullest Tet.

VAPCO, the investor of Vung Ang II Thermal Power Project, was established in 2007 with the aim of undertaking the development, financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, owns, operates and transfers a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1200 MW. Construction began on October 26, with the aim of providing electrical energy for all areas of Vietnam by 2025.

VAPCO is one of the international organizations that invested a large amount of capital in the Project to build a thermal power plant, supported by the Vietnamese government that helps strengthen the economic development in Vung Ang economic zone, Ky Anh Town. VAPCO is always looking for opportunities to contribute to the improvement and enhancement of life quality of local people, as well as contribute to the economic development of Ky Anh.
