CSR: VAPCO to give life jackets to fishermen

Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited has planned a series of social responsibility activities to help support people in Ky Loi commune, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province. As one of the events in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of VAPCO. Realizing that the number of fishermen in 2 villages Hai Phong 1 & 2 along the coast of Ky Loi commune is quite large, they mainly live by marine occupation, always facing many risks from natural disasters and storms. Sharing with those difficulties, on April 29, VAPCO company organized to give away 330 life jackets and instruct how to use swim vests to contribute to ensuring the safety of fishermen’s lives when practicing fishing. catching at sea, helping fishermen feel secure to reach the sea to develop their family’s economy. On April 29, VAPCO company presented 330 life jackets to fishermen in Ky Loi commune.

We hope these life jackets will help fishermen when working at sea. Wish all fishermen will always be convenient and safe every time they go to sea.” Fisherman Chu Van Doan (65 years old, hamlet 1, Ky Loi commune) said: “My family has three fathers and children with three boats, all working in the sea. This job is really hard and dangerous. These are gifts filled with affection, sharing and understanding with the disadvantaged households here. Especially, thank you to the heart of Vung Ang II Thermal Power Co., Ltd. for caring and accompanying people in the area.” As part of the series of activities of the social responsibility program, before that, Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited (VAPCO) donated some equipment for the prevention and control of COVID-19 to Ky Anh town. . Specifically, the equipment awarded includes: 5,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits, 2,000 KF94 masks, 1,500 N95 masks, 500 medical suits; total value of 450 million VND.

On the afternoon of March 9, Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited held a handover and completed renovation of Ky Loi Primary School with a total donation of 670 million VND. Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited (VAPCO) organized to award 90 scholarships to students overcoming difficulties and 180 gifts to disadvantaged households in Ky Loi commune, Ky ward Trinh and Ky Long (Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province) and a number of programs are in the process of being implemented to support people such as: Upgrading street lights, supporting vocational training and other activities. . These are activities in the projects of the Company’s Social Responsibility Program for the vicinity of the Project during the construction and operation phase of the plant. In the coming time, the Company will continue to carry out community development and livelihood restoration activities to support people in Ky Anh town according to the implementation standards of the international financial organization IFC.
