POSITION SUMMARY
The Public Relations & Community Relations Officer (PR&CR Officer) is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with public officials, government agencies, and local communities in the project location. PR&CR Officer manages programs and projects related to the support of the local community and environment while raising awareness of the Company’s CSR activities following IFC performance standards. He/ she will perform other tasks and functions assigned from time to time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the development of short, medium, and long-term stakeholder engagement and CSR strategies and implementing initiatives that create positive social and environmental impact.
- Undertake social investigation and gather field data for the development of the Host Community Profile.
- Coordinate with the various local & national government agencies, NGOs, and Parish-based organizations for the organization of an integrated development program for the host community.
- Develop, implement, and manage public relations programs and activities which promote the Company’s image in the local community and beyond.
- Develop and implement social management plans based on IFC performance standards for social and environmental sustainability with the support of external consultants.
- Prepare reports on the company’s social activities and responsibilities as required by IFC performance standards and Vietnamese regulations.
- Participate in plant CSR budget preparation and analysis; prepare CSR budget reports.
- Handles the delivery of payments related to CSR activities in accordance with the company’s financial and compliance procedures and performs minor interpretation duties relevant to CSR tasks.
- Perform other tasks/ functions assigned from time to time.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in public relations & community relations or in the related field, preferably in an industrial company that follows IFC performance standards. It is preferred to have good connections and relationships in the Ha Tinh government system.
- Have hands-on experience in fieldwork, coordination work, conflict resolution, and liaison work with various offices, groups, and people.
- Good experience in strategic planning and data analysis, esp. in the formulation of community profile, stakeholder engagement, and CSR program design.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) and be able to communicate using advanced vocabulary.
- Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and IE applications.
- Available to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
