Recruitment: Demi Water/WWT Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Demi Water/WWT Operator performs the proper operation of the equipment related to Desal/Demin/Wastewater treatment/Chlorine/Intake Facility with the operation of a coal power plant in accordance with facility procedures and policies. During his shift, the Demin/Wastewater Treatment Operator also tours designated areas in the plant to inspect equipment and record operating parameters. The Demi water/Waste water Treatment Operator reports to, and takes direction from, the operation Shift leader on his shift.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform safe and efficient operation of the water treatment systems, taking direction from the CRO, Chemical/Fuel Leader, and Operation Shift Leader.
  • Perform start-up, operation, and shutdown of equipment and systems related to the production of demineralized water required for supercritical steam plant operation and the treatment facilities for raw, and other wastewater streams, in accordance with approved plant procedures and as directed by the Operation Shift Leader, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regard for the protection of the environment.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and operate the Intake Facility/Chlorine system.
  • Monitor and record local operating parameters and adjust them to maintain safe and efficient operation.
  • Observe reports, troubleshoot, and correct situations likely to develop into operational problems or safety hazards.
  • Take water/steam samples and conduct the analysis when needed.
  • Report all equipment maintenance requirements to the Shift Leader.
  • Participate in scheduled safety meetings and training.
  • Perform other duties as the Control Room Operator/Operation Shift Leader/ Chemical&Fuel Leader assign.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 – 3 years vocational / technical school diploma or equivalent level of experience required;
  • At least 3 years of experience working as an equipment operator in an industrial environment required. Water treatment experience a plus.
  • Prefer a completion certificate of training course related to Super or Ultra critical coal power plant operation.
  • Upper beginner level communication skills in the English language (written and verbal), Able to response using basic grammar & vocabularies.
