Vung Ang II Thermal Power LLC, formerly known as Vung Ang II Thermal Power Joint Stock Company VAPCO, was granted the certificate of business registration and tax code by the Business Registration Office of Ha Tinh’s Department of Planning and Investment for the first time on November 7, 2007, at the address Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Loi Commune, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province to undertake the development, financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation, and transfer of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1200 MW with a total of 1200 MW. investment capital is 2.2 billion USD.

- Wholesale of materials and other installation equipment in construction

On March 2, 2009, the Government agreed to allow Vung Ang II Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (VAPCO) to develop Vung Ang II thermal power project in the form of BOT.
On April 27, 2018, the Company was converted from a Joint Stock Company to Vung Ang II Thermal Power LLC until now.
